Why It's Still Used

Korean almanacs, temple ceremonies, and news headlines still reference gapja years — 2024's Gapjin (Blue Dragon) year is a well-known recent example. Note that this calculator uses the solar calendar year boundary for simplicity; traditional practice uses Ipchun (立春, early February) as the actual year start.
