Need to quickly measure something but don't have a ruler nearby? This online screen ruler lets you measure real-world dimensions directly on your computer or phone screen. After a simple calibration step, you get accurate cm and inch rulers, a point-to-point distance measurement tool, and reference size overlays.
Every screen has a different pixel density (PPI - Pixels Per Inch). A 15.6" laptop and a 27" monitor may have the same resolution but very different physical pixel sizes. Calibration determines the exact ratio between on-screen pixels and real-world millimeters.
Once calibrated, you can use the horizontal and vertical rulers (showing both cm in blue and inches in green), click any two points to measure the straight-line distance between them, and overlay standard reference sizes like A4 paper, credit cards, and business cards.
Set your display scaling to 100% for maximum accuracy. On high-DPI (Retina) displays, the credit card method generally gives better results than the diagonal input method. Re-calibrate if you change monitors or display settings.
