Korean Insurance Age Calculator

Enter a birth date and reference date to calculate the 'insurance age' used by Korean insurers, alongside the standard Korean age.

※ Insurance age = Korean age at the reference date, plus one more year if 6 or more months have passed since the last birthday. The exact reference date (application vs. contract date) can vary by insurer and product — check the policy terms.

What Is 'Insurance Age'?

Korean insurance products don't use your exact man-nai (Korean international age) for premium calculation. Instead, they round to the nearest year: if 6 or more months have passed since your last birthday as of the reference date, you're counted as one year older.

Why It Matters

Premiums generally rise with age, so knowing your insurance age in advance helps you understand or double-check a quote. Since the rounding can push you into an older bracket up to six months before your actual birthday, timing an application just before vs. just after that 6-month mark can matter for premium comparisons.
